On being outed

Being outed may take years, antis are a very patient bunch. So beware, they are taking noted. Lets look at how they can out you. It's not always about giving a an e-mail address or something really obvious.

You say at GC "Happy New year." Well, the antis know what time zone you are in. This cuts the search by a lot in one phrase.

Now if you say you are a RSO. Then this cuts down identifying even more.

You say "Man, it snowed a lot here today." Now the anti checks every where it snowed in that time zone. This could cut the search way down, it might not have snowed in many places in that time zone.

Over time you may say something like "I turned 40 today, I feel like I'm getting old." Now the antis know what time zone you live in. What region you live in, that you are a RSO who just turned 40. The search is getting much closer to getting you outed.

You announce that your father just died and he was 87. Well. with that information they just might know who you are. At least have a good idea.

If you mention what career you work in this narrows down the search even more. If you happen to use an e-mail addy which identifies the type of work you do could be a problem.

If you happen to say "I went to the Rolling Stones concert tonight and it was great." All the antis have to do is check where the
Stones played and they have another clue. You might not live in the city where they played but with all the other information you told over time it's getting awful close to you haveing a spot on the antis Wiki page.

Telling us what movie you saw last night could give clues, or even a television show. Some movies are playing all over so that might not be a big deal but if it's a movie which isn't popular or an older flick playing in your town the antis may do a search and find where these movies are being played. They do have a network of haters, so it might not be as tough finding this information as you think.

All of this stuff I mentioned I've heard people say over the years. When you connect all these dots together it could be pointing right at you.

So it would be wise to think about giving any information that could identify you over time. It all adds up. One or 2 of these things I mentioned most likely won't get you outed. All of them together may.

Be safe, don't get outed.
