Question for you folks

I am continuing an answer to another post but this might be a separate subject of debate.

In the late 60s or early 70s, when the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that pornography was legal, ALL of it was legal, including explicit images of minors enjoying sex.
It was not until years afterwards that images of anyone under 18 enjoying themselves sexually were forbidden.

Now, the Constitution of the United States of America specifically forbids ex post facto laws (laws penalizing you for something that was not unlawful when you did it).

What about the people who collected sexually explicit images of children when it was legal to do so?
Penalizing them seems to be a direct violation of the Constitution.
