while rummaging through parts of my 'puter I came about a poem I wrote some years ago. Maybe I had posted it here back then - I don't remember. Anyway, I thought that I could post it - why not.
I had written it after seeing children play in a river near by and by hearing the kids call one of the girls who seemed to be "chief of construction" by her name I was remembered of a girl with the same name and a cute tomboyish behavior who I fell in love with when I was 19. Since I had not been at ease with my pedo-feelings for little girls back then I didn't let anything happen between us. (what a shame!) :-)
gum-boots (Anna - annA)
so powerful
you're standing in the flowing river
sparkling brown eyes
brown hair in pigtails
a quick smile in the sun
Anna, with your yellow gum-boots on
so powerful
you're building a bridge 'cross the river
although there already is one,
the one I'm standing on,
but it's not good enough for you,
so strong
Anna, with your yellow gum-boots on
so powerful
the others bring up found things to you
and then you decide what to do
"not the rusted bike. that stone!"
you can pick up the old planks from the river like no-one
'cos you're the only one,
Anna, having yellow gum-boots on
so powerful
to hear your name
that always meant so much to me...
I remember your sister in time
and how I loved her
in that summer long lost
how she looked at me, so strong
Anna, with her yellow gum-boots on
so powerful
she stood in the flowing river
sparkling brown eyes
flowing blonde hair
a scratch on her cheek
Her glances to all others with me
a look saying "this one's mine, see!?"
her eyes only softly for one,
Anna, with your yellow gum-boots on
so powerful
but soft only for me
I loved you, but I didn't dare
back then I was too easy to scare
though I could easily see
your eyes only soft for me
and you were the only one,
Anna, with your yellow gum-boots on
so powerful
emotions the memory stirs up in me
your quick smile in the sun that I see
my sun, for a moment in time
but too long I've now bathed in your shine
I have to leave you now
blinded by the sun
Anna, with your yellow gum-boots on
so powerful
you can pick up the old planks from the river like no-one
because you're the only one,
Anna, who has yellow gum-boots on
Hope you liked it. I know it's not very good in regard to any use of form or rhyme scheme but I think it's still nice. ;-)
Big hello and hugs to my friends here. I'm doing alright - it's getting better. Things are finally starting to heal.
Spring is coming soon!
