Yes, René Clément is the director. Find a copy of it with English subtitles. Not expensive, but sad. I warn you. Paulette is a very pretty little girl. Her friend Michel is a little sly, but amiable.

"Paulette" whose surname is never known - Brigitte Fossey - is still alive. I have heard that she became a good translator later. "Michel Dollé" - Georges Poujouly - died in 2000 for lung cancer.
