Is it possible you can find me a link to any online reference that confirms what you said up above? I believe what you said is certainly the case, but I would prefer to have a citation to back up this statement.

I read the paper in a library that happened to have a subscription to the Psychological Bulletin. It's in Volume 124, Issue 11, pages 22-53. A Google Scholar search for "Rind 1998" turned up eight sites with the paper online; I didn't try any of them but hopefully at least one will let you view it without a subscription. If you get a chance to read it, I'd like to be pinged on whether or not my recollections were correct.
