When I was in school, there was a kid who painted his desk black with markers. The teacher yelled at him and had him wash the desk after school - nothing more. Oh, and he didn't do that again. Today, I guess he would have been charged with vandalism, thrown in jail for a year, and forced to pay a big fine for damages. What a world...
