A priest is not a good legal representation nor a good advice giver on the law. They will want to lead you to Jesus, and get you saved before the pigs come and scoop you up. In the eyes of a priest, your a sinner and deserve whatever consequence you get for your sin here on Earth, they don't bother themselves about your physical prescience, but they care about your soul, since that is immortal and will see a eternal consequence for your actions. So you see, it's not a bad thing, they care, it's just their priorities are not earthly, but Heavenly....consult a lawyer, they are better prepared to give you the advice you need concerning the law and they will be concerned about your earthly state as well....
