Re: ever let a parent have it?

Several years ago I had a moving sale and had a bunch of stuff set up on display. Someone came to look at it, bringing a toddler, probably two years old (below my aoa, incidentally). The kid, while walking by, reached out a hand for balance, grabbed a table leg, and almost knocked it over. The stupid bitch with the legal authority to legally be a stupid bitch started beating her in punishment. I told the stupid bitch that I'd rather have all my stuff be knocked over and smashed to bits than to have to watch her do that to the kid. If she hadn't stopped, it would have perfectly within my rights, and my duty, to use violence as a last resort in order to protect the kid.
