I recall Taffy making some compelling arguments for why we should abandon the "P" word.

Many others over the years have done so. But all of their arguments hinged on the notion that a legitimate English word in its proper context was so tainted by misuse from a semi-literate media that it could no longer be used properly.

The attempt to shut-down convo by falsely claiming that the proper usage is no longer legitimate ( in the face of evidence to the contrary ) distracts from any coherent thought either way.

"Why I do X rather than Z," has been replaced by "X is your only choice because Z doesn't exist."

And I was among the first to speak to the confused about not rushing to judgement about the nature of their Sexual Orientation or using a label where it didn't serve them.

While Pedophile is my preferred term, I wouldn't impose such a word fraught with misunderstanding on anyone else, particularly if they don't appear to truly be an MAA.

One should understand the environment which one lives in. While I do believe in Pedo-pride; I don't believe that we're superior to the Nons or "cooler." I shudder to think that the kids who would've been Beatnik hipsters as a way of expressing their disaffection in the 50s might think that Pedophilia is a cool pose to try out. And those with too much exposure to Anime and Manga ( closes ranks w/ Trucker ) should realize that the reality is very different from Moeru sentimentality. Its much more complex for good and worse. I wouldn't choose to be anyone other than myself for convenience-sake. But if I were someone else, I wouldn't pick "Pedophile" off a menu of options.
