Some describe it being not unlike Neil Jordan's The Company of Wolves as far as a dreamlike fairy-tale/nightmare evocation of the budding sexuality of the pubescent.

Some of it sounds like Louis Malle's Black Moon as far as the surreal aspect of it goes.

Anyhow, I'm curious and someday I'll probably give-in and give Valerie a try.
