It's kind of like what happens with my Brother and I... he's 13 years younger than I am, so sometimes he can start in and start talking like I'm one of his friends at school... it's different from the banter and usual back and forth between us, it's more... to use a very bad word out of simplicity... immature.

It's not like I want to be RESPECTED because I'm an ADULT or anything... but I'm not a 13 year old boy either, so when he starts talking to me like I am, it pisses me off a bit. It sounds like what you are talking about is kind of similar... I don't know what age group you are talking about, but I do know from experience that girls of a certain age can be downright nasty to their friends and yet two seconds later be chatting it up like nothing ever happened. Which is why what you are talking about reminded me of when my brother starts talking to me like he would talk to his buddies from school.

So, when it happens with my brother... like Eeyore suggests, but in a more brother on brother way, I call him on it. He says sorry, and we move on.
