I was killing time at the supermarket the other day, and I ended up looking at the magazine racks. i saw a magazine called Stereophile ⚠️ ↗, which I imagine is published for folks who love stereo and audio equipment. But who in their right mind would see this magazine and assume that it wa published for people that wanted to abduct and rape stereo equipment? I imagine that, in today's climate, its tough to think about the -phile suffix without thinking of 'pedophile', so why does one application of the suffix suggest 'love' or 'appreciation', while the other denotes in most minds 'deceit' or 'rape'?
