Given Palin's personal positions and history; and McCain's possible or actual shortcomings with both Christian conservatives and the undecided middle ground, this could be a master move to, at the same time: a) reaffirm McCain's conservative credentials by showing he means it when he says he shares their values (as in showing he really is a firm anti-abortionist, for instance), but also b) proving to the middle ground that that doesn't mean excommunicating teens who have had sex...
Any attack the Obama camp do based on this will make the Dems seem like the hypocrites on sexual policies and affairs.
The important thing here is that they all knew she was pregnant since before she was selected as VP nominee. Therefore, it's not like it is a surprise for the Republican campaign. It is planned. Had McCain intended to avoid the issue, he'd have selected Lieberman, or anyone else. He did not, which proves that he (and she) will tackle it if and when it comes, and probably actually use it to their advantage. If they do, I'd say it was a truly master move.

In line with Lindsay's Little Girl Prediction Method... now that Palin is the VP candidate... I'd say Piper greatly increases the ticket's viability... and Willow, if you're a hebe...

I still staunchly refuse to endorse either McCain or Obama. But I am willing to admit I am much more fond of Palin than I am of Biden.
