The power of comedy

A comedy about a sex offender? while the thought may be too much for the christian right to contemplate, comedy is a tool that humans use to deal with the things or persons that frighten them.
Back in the early days of cinema, the scariest things on film were vampires, werewolves, and mummies. Then you have bud Abbot and Lou Costello making movies about meeting these monsters and lo and behind, they are not so scary any more.
The most feared man in Europe was once Adolf Hitler. Charlie tamed our fears by lampooning him in the film "The Great Dictator". The Three Stooges did likewise in a film which features a Hitler-like moron who lead the nation of Moronica.
Maybe a comedy about a pedophile would help to calm the public's fears!
