Hi Lindsay,

I hope everything is well with you. I know your life is needlessly difficult from the moral opprobrium we all face. I hope you are in good cheer and this coming holiday season finds happiness in your life.

Your criticism is fair. I will answer it as objectively as possible.

1. The play. I cancelled that project when the State took my son. I was probably more motivated by fear to cancel that project than anything else, and that moral failure is mine.

2. The state suit seeking to find me an unfit parent based on my sexual orientation. I do not know what the outcome will be, but no one will ever accuse me honestly of being anything less than a zealous advocate for truth and what is right. I presented expert testimony at trial from two of the world's foremost experts on "pedophilia" -- a psychiatrist and a sociologist from London. The cost of that effort caused me to endure months of hunger, and I asked no one for help to ease the hardships in my life. The case is now a year and a half old; I have been threatened multiple times with imprisonment over speaking out about it; I have no shame in my behavior after the matter began and have proceeded with dignity and courage.

3. The federal class-action suit seeking civil rights for all pedophiles in my County (Marion County, Indianapolis). That case was expensive and a hardship to me in and of itself. I was frightened for months; it is not easy to approach the lawful authorities demanding recognition of one's humanity face-to-face. I lost the case. The Federal court found on various grounds that there is no federal cause of action for such a suit, because we have no associational rights to base a suit on. One result of that case is that the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children secured national legislation (42 U.S.C. 13032) granting them absolute immunity from such suits -- I had sued the National Center seeking a federal injunction probhiting them from accepting anonymous tips that someone is simply sexually attracted to children, and passing those tips onto local law enforcement / child protective services. This suit was captioned Kevin Brown, et al., v. State of Indiana, et al., 1:05-CV-1585 SDIN, and is accessible by the Federal Court's PACER system.

4. The "pedfoundation.org" website, which I put a lot of time into and had around 400 pages of original content and research. Whatever its merit or quality, it was removed under court order (the Motion to Compel Conduct, or "gag" order the Court imposed on me last October).

5. The MAA Daily Lives Research Project, which is ongoing.

I do not know that any of us have many successes we can point to; what is important in these days is the effort, regardless of the outcome.

Sincerely,

Kevin
