Yes, but the English langauge is derived from the Latin. I realize that the interpreter's of the Bible had one heck of a time translating the Bible from Latin to Greek, and as a result some of the words have gotten different meanings as well. Some of the most powerful stuff in Greek was watered down so much, they just failed to use many many English words to describe one Latin word. Latin is a language that is beutiful, and so is Greek, but so many of us are so ignorant of the orginal meanings of the words it's rediculous...but some of us can't even speak the language correctly anymore, including myself sometimes. I'm sure 1000 yrs from now, the term "Slang" will be just another language like English or Greek that had died out and some other form of it will take it's place, and the orginal meanings of the words will go with it...sigh...
